Samsung NB30 10.1-Inch Black Netbook
Design
IN terms of looks the Samsung NB30 actually doesn’t have a lot going on for it, and the reason behind this being the “scratch-resistant” lusterless-black finish of the notebook. Though the look of the notebook is pretty smooth and rounded, but certainly lacks the head turning features and any sort of sparkle. The overall netbook looks plasticky, but still gives a sturdy feel. The lid of the system when kept close has extremely small flex, and the curvy corrugated design athwart the rear end of the netbook gives a little easy grip on the netbook. The design of NB30 is actually reminiscent of Samsung NP-N210, with a little bit of influence from the soft, art-house design of Samsung Go N310. The ports are positioned on both the edges of NB30, with exception of front-facing SD card slot which is slightly hidden and an abnormally sliding power button, which also is positioned on the front-facing bottom lip. Both these positioning are highly annoying and pretty easy to use.
The interiors of Samsung NB30 also are pretty less striking with plain lusterless-black keyboard and adjoining area, an inset 10.1 inch screen with lusterless plastic surrounding the surface of the screen. The only colorful thing here is the row of LED status lights positioned right next to the left of the track pad.
The splash-resistant keyboard of Samsung NB30 has a flat design, and if you even had a spill on the keyboard make sure that the fluid is taken off well within 10 seconds. The keys on the keyboard are a tad less that full size, but run edge to edge all across the Netbook’s size. The size for the important keys is proportionate, including the complete Return and shift keys, and although the size of the arrow keys is a bit small, but they are positioned nicely and hence doesn’t feel cramped. On a whole operating the keyboard is a comfortable maneuver.
